I love going on a holiday to different places all over the country. I planned a holiday trip recently to the city of Kalyan in the Thane District in Maharashtra. The city is close to Mumbai and a big industrial city. There are many companies and offices with their corporate offices in the city. I always prefer travelling by train and hence planned the entire journey myself.

I looked in IRCTC for checking the best trains available in the route from Howrah to Kalyan. I wanted to book my tickets in the sleeper class and hence I booked my tickets in the Howrah LTT Special 03061. The train is one of the best in the route and has suitable timings. The tickets are priced as per the normal railway fares for the sleeper class. The train departs from Howrah at 8.15 am.
 

I reached the station early in the morning by 7 am and took my seat. The train departed on time. The train was neat and clean and has many passenger facilities in the sleeper class. The train features include
 

The train had a stoppage in many cities and I enjoyed the food at various stations. It reached the Kalyan Junction at 00.30 the following day. For my stay in the city I had booked one of the famous budget hotels known as the Hotel Residency Fort. The hotel is very strategically located in the middle of the city and very close to the famous tourist hotspots.

I was very impressed with the infrastructure and the services provided by the hotel. The hotel provides pick and drop facilities for the tourists. Further, the hotel has a good in-house restaurant specialised in cuisines from the different parts of the region. The hotel also has a good café to try a variety of hot and cold beverages along with some snacks. Bar of the hotel is also a great place to try some wines and spirits from different regions of the world.

The hotel accepts online booking and provides many discounts and offers also. The hotel is an ideal destination for a budget stay in the city. There are many packages also that can be availed like the stay in the best rooms of the hotel and the sightseeing trips. The hotel has maintained a good business centre and seminar hall for the guests that can be used for holding meetings and seminars.

The rooms of the hotel are categorised as the club single room, deluxe single room, deluxe double or twin rooms and club double room. I booked one of the twin rooms for the stay. The tariff of the room was very nominal and provided buffet breakfasts. Apart from the buffet services the hotel has provisions for pick and drop facilities. I liked the services and hospitality of the hotel staffs who were very cooperative and made sure to fulfil all the requests I had.
